Attorney, Mark E. Alter, founding partner of the Law Offices of Mark E. Alter, has dedicated his career to representing clients with a wide range of legal matters since 1992. Mark Alter practices in the areas of Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Matrimonial, Family & Domestic Relations Law and Commercial Litigation where he has earned a reputation as an aggressive attorney who provides high-quality representation to his clients. Mark Alter’s experience as a former New York City Police Officer affords him valuable insight into the criminal justice system which gives him a substantial practical advantage in now defending clients charged with all types of criminal activity. Upon graduating law school, Mr. Alter founded the Law Offices of Mark E. Alter where he has represented clients in numerous high-profile cases lending him to be recognized in the legal community as an aggressive and experienced advocate for his clients. He has and continues to handle some of the most serious major felony cases including Murder, Attempted murder, Robbery, Grand Larceny, Computer crimes, Sexual Assaults, Drug and Alcohol related offenses including offenses related to Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Impaired by Drugs as well as Felony charges arising out of crimes associated with the operation of a motor vehicle and Juvenile Offenses. Margaret S. Alter, Esq.
Attorney, Margaret S. Alter, is a senior partner in the Law Offices of Mark E. Alter who joined the firm in 1993. Margaret’s legal career concentrates in the areas of Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Matrimonial, Family, Domestic Relations and Tax Law. Her litigation experience includes Motion practice, writs, general litigation, appeals and a multitude of other legal writings which are essential aspects of our practice and utilized in resolving, reducing and addressing many important concerns that may detrimentally impact our clients’ claims and cases. Mrs. Alter is also our firm’s tax litigator who has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax liability for many of our clients. Margaret Alter graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. During her studies there, she completed an internship with the New York State Justice Department, Consumer Frauds and Protection Bureau. Obtaining her Juris Doctorate and graduating Cum Laude from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center of Touro College in 1992, she was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Professional Ethics. She also participated in many internships during her legal education including internships with the Nassau County District Attorney’s Major Offense Bureau, the Queens County District Attorney’s Office and with the Nassau County Legal Aid Society. Margaret Alter is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York and is a member of both the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations. Attorney, Erica Alter, is a partner attorney in the Law Offices of Mark E. Alter. Ms. Alter handles a wide range of cases from inception through trial. She firmly prepares and investigates for each case as if they are going to trial. It is this level of dedication that has enabled Ms. Alter to successfully resolve already a large number of cases on behalf of the firm’s clients. The foundation of Ms. Alter’s success is her unwavering commitment to the needs of our clients and organization in handling each case. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Prior to graduating law school, Ms. Alter worked as a judicial intern for the Hon. Bruna L. DiBiase in the Queens Criminal Court and in Federal Court for the Hon. Arthur D. Spatt, Senior United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Adrian L. Diluzio, Esq.
IN MEMORIAM 1946-2018 Attorney, Adrian L. DiLuzio, of counsel to the firm, practices exclusively in the area of criminal defense. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Mr. DiLuzio worked as a prosecutor for nine years in the District Attorney’s Offices of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Nassau County, New York. He has engaged in defense work for the past thirty-one years, defending many serious and prominent cases including the largest embezzlement case in Nassau County history (People v. Juan Carlos Molina), the largest art fraud in United States history (United States v. Kathryn Amiel), and the most highly publicized case in New York history (People v. Joel Steinberg). Adrian L. DiLuzio’s legal career began with his work for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office for six years. While prosecuting misdemeanors, homicides, and other major felonies during his stay there, he also served as the Assistant Bureau Chief of the Municipal Court Bureau, the Assistant Bureau Chief of the Felony-Jury Bureau, and supervised and edited the writing of briefs in the Appeals Bureau. In addition, he served on the Executive Committee of the Criminal Justice section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Upon leaving Philadelphia, he relocated to Nassau County, New York, District Attorney’s Office where, in addition to continuing the prosecution of felonies, he went on to become the Deputy Chief of the Official Corruption Bureau. He also served as Chairman of the Criminal Justice Section of the Nassau County Bar Association. Since leaving the District Attorney’s Office Mr. DiLuzio has engaged exclusively in the defense of criminal cases, including a number of prominent cases well-known to local and national communities. It is Mr. DiLuzio’s extensive criminal litigation background that has led so many prominent clients to seek his counsel. Adrian L. Ondine Galvez Sniffin is a graduate of the State University of New York at Old Westbury where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics, Economics and Society. In her junior year, she studied abroad at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. In 1997, Ms. Sniffin obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Boston University School of Law. During her last year of law school, Ms. Sniffin worked as a student attorney representing clients before the Boston Immigration Court. Ms. Sniffin has been helping clients achieve their dreams of becoming vital members of our American community for more than 27 years. She is committed to delivering high-quality legal representation in a multi-lingual, multi cultural context.
